Amek 501 VCA Problem

Postby get-z » Sat Dec 10, 2016 5:16 pm

Hi Analogfreaks,
I have a Amek 501 Consol, working great for the last 7 years, the manual option is on, so no computer control is on.
One channel is now starting a very ugly mistake,.. the level was suddenly much too high during a production and the VCA fader was trimming in very big steps. Since then it seems to control like a 4bit fader, and the signal is distorted!-(.
I changed the channel, the fader..and the mistake is still on the same position , so it must be something wrong on the motherboard.
Any great ideas exists out there?

Thanx for help!!!

Reading and writing VCA levels is common to the whole desk so if most work then the problem is not serious.
There will be the VD card in the chassis so I would start looking there for problems.
