In the late 70's, over half of the records in Billboard's Top 200 were recorded and/or mixed using MCI equipment.

Spandau Ballet "True"
Tracked at Compass Point in the Bahamas on an B, mixed at RedBus Studios in London on a modified B.
The Who "Face Dances" Odyssey Studios, London on the very first 556C
All of these also had JH-16 or JH-24 machines.
All of the big Culture Club stuff was done on the 542B at RedBus. (The producer, Steve Levine, bought his own Sony 3324 later.) Who knows how much stuff was done on the ones at CBS and Marquee Studios.
Jeff Beck, "Guitar Workshop" recorded by Leif Mases on Gus Dudgeon's JH542 serial # 003 with Valley People TA101 VCAs and Sescom mic transformers (The Mill Studios) again, all done on MCI machines as well.
The early Culture Club were first done on a Studer A800 Mk1 until RedBus got rid of it, because it sounded like crap and bought more JH-24s.
Odyssey Studios did a lot of good albums in London. CBS had a 542A #017 and a 556C with slightly different input modules. I think they had variable Hi and Lo pass filters. The console needed 2 audio supplies, one feeding each half of the board because the one originally supplied kept tripping out because these different I/O modules took more current on the ±15v rails, I think.
DJM Studios London had 2 542Bs, so there's another list of stuff.

Most of the SCORPIONS Records between 1978 and 1986. Recorded on an MCI JH 528b in Studio 1 ot the Dierks Recording Studios in Cologne, Germany. Dieter Dierks was the producer of the Scorpions at this time. On the same console also recorded Rory Gallagher, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, Kool & The Gang, Donna Summer, Phil Collins etc. and a great deal of german stars.

I bought the console in 2006.
