looking for m series console or similar

Postby sonicdom » Wed Jun 24, 2009 2:36 am

hi

i'm looking for a small calrec m-series console 18-24 channels with patchbay and a few compressors. either in great condition ready to use or i'm also considering a console that needs work as long as it is complete and cheap. the closer to switzerland the better.

i saw the 40 channel one on here, while it is very tempting, it is way too big.

i'm also considering similar consoles from other manufactures (e.g. studer).

if you have anything you think might be intresting for me, email me at sonicdom a t hotmail c o m

thanks

I currently have 2 Calrec M Series consoles in the workshop.

One is a 48 channel, so no good for you.

The other is a 36 channel, comprising 24 mono channels and 12 stereo channels. There are 8 stereo subgroups and currently 2 x DL1656 compressors. There are a further 4 comps that could be installed in the console. The patchbay is under construction and is remoted on 11 metre cables.

Another option is that I have a complete set of modules for a 36 channel M-Series console. It is possible to design and build a custom frame for these. It will not be a cheap exercise.

If any of this is of interest, let me know.

this looks very tempting:

just the right size for me. do the m series have any parts that are difficult to find or are all the spares readily available?

thanks

I had someone in the UK contact me for some info on it.. I had no idea it was out there.. And not that I could tell them much either!!
Maybe who ever got it (if anyone did) may pop up here.
Does anyone know anything about it?? It looks great but how much work would need to be done to get it to work in a studio??
As much as any M I suppose..
Can't quite see much regarding routing but it does appear to be 6 group.
I'm keen to know more!!

That was it.. Wonder what the asking price is now??
I think there was another Calrec (not sure what type) out here that went up for auction a couple of weeks ago. Ex ABC auction with lots of other stuff too..
Not sure if it ended up being sold or not..
