Fleximix Reed Relay help?

Postby Fleximan5 » Thu Oct 24, 2013 11:58 pm

Hi Guys
I think I have a bad reed relay on the Aux master.
The one that's in there is a Hamlin Reed Relay CCPRI/H
I couldn't find anything with a web search.
Can anybody help me with a modern day replacement part number in the states?

Probably best to use a DPDT 16 pin DIP sized relay. Many sources for those. You may need to make a perfboard adaptor if the pinouts don't match up. If you use a 16 pin machined DIP socket you can plug in a new one when it fails.

Thanks Jim!
That's a great idea.
Doing my search it looks like the mercury wetted ones sounded best.
Maybe I can find some NOS somewhere and adapt them in.
I did learn from Colin at Audio Maintenance Limited that the part number is CCPR1/H.
It's a form C, 6-9volt rated, coil power 50 - 115mW, coil resistance 700kOhm, Max must operate voltage 4.7V, Min must release voltage 1.0V

One question. Is coil resistance a big deal?

They made a mercury wetted one "CCPR1/N" with the same voltage rating but coil resistance is only 150 Ohms, coil power 240-560mW and 4.7V & 1.0V as above respectively.

+1 for all the great mods you've done for me over the years!

Matching voltage to operate the relay is what matters.
