1977 thru 81 I think, replaced by the MR3.
Little brother of 32 series. 3 band EQ plus Hi pass filter, 24 buss, 4 aux sends. There was really only 24B/C series. VCAs went from black dBx 202, gold 202C, Valley People EGC101.
Early ones might have had quad 741s in the audio, later ones had Harris 4605; plenty of good alternatives available.
Other than the PSU, which I know there are none left in Nashville, there is nothing on the board that you cannot get from good electronic distributors.
Early ones might have had transformer mic pre only, later ones offered choice of transformer/transformerless.
Transformer ones need circuit re-building to make the most of the transformer.

Hi,
I have been following you and nrgrecording thread today both on this forum and goupDiy. I have a Harrisson TV3 (Mr3) with other routing options, and now have you guys inspired me with your Diy'r force for a total restoration of my console. Unfortunately I have know studio I had to move because the rent went up 200%. So I have all my gear in the basement at a friends. But I went out there today and took a couple of strips with me home. I'm going to recap it and and clean and go through all of the strips. Btw in my manual is there three optional Mic pre alternatives one with the jensen JE115KE input xmrs, and I'm really interested of the schematic of the hole circuit and layout also. I' have been recording since I was 18, but I'm not on you guys electronic knowledge electronics. But I've been studying electronics every day now.Anyways I was reading somewhere that I don't have to replace all electrolyte cap's can anyone give me some tips? I have a lot of spare Harrison components that might be of interest. Finally I'd like to say very impressed of your work!

All the best,

Plexirob,
So somebody's told you you don't need to change electrolytic capacitors...............mmmmmmmmm!

When you've been involved with analog consoles as long as I have that just is not true.
I worked for a studio for 10 years that had a 3624C for 7 years and we did 2 complete changes. I will qualify this in that we used tantalums for the first change, and they were crap.
We also had a MCI JH500B/C; 10 years 2 changes.

People with Amek consoles (especially 2520s) or any of the ones with Neve based circuitry ran so hot the caps dry out.
major cap change, then you can find out what's actually wrong with the rest of the console; the bad caps get in the way of proper fault finding.
The LED meters discussed in another thread here have 5 caps that you change, and then find out what's wromh with the meter.
Don't bother with ESR meters so you cam measure them to see if you need to change, if there's been no change for 5 years and the console's been in use, change them
Sorry.
